The ABCO Purge Type Z purger series provides protection for reducing the classification of a sealed enclosure from Class 1, Division 2 to Non-Hazardous.
The Type Z purgers can also be used for Type Y purging. Use of these devices permits the use of non-explosion-proof enclosures and devices in a hazardous area.

Four unit flow capacities are available to cover typical needs. The AFP-01, AFP-02 and AFP-03 units are suitable for up to 15, 75 and 300 cubic foot enclosures,
respectively, in Class 1 service. The AP-01 is suitable for up to two (2) cubic foot enclosures in Class 1 service and ten (10) cubic foot enclosures in Class 2
service. Consistent with the NFPA 496, the Fast Purge units will exchange four (4) volumes of inert gas or air with a reasonable safety margin in the times
indicated on their front panels. The normal pressure for all units should be adjusted to 00.25 inch water, as indicated by the color-coded gauge on the panel front.

A Fast-Purge vent is required on all enclosures when using an ABCO Purge Fast-Purge unit (AP-01, AFP-02, AFP-03). The Fast-Purge vents are selected to be compatible
with the high flow volumes of the Fast-Purge cycle for the individual units. Use the AV-1BG Vent (with integral relief valve) for the AP-01 and the AFP-01.
Use the AV-2BG with the AFP-02 or AFP-03. The AV-BG Series are provided with bug screens, flame arrestors and rain excluders.
